Privacy notice: Sidecar Export for GitHub Issues & PRs
Effective 8 September 2026. Publisher: Sidecar Tools, support@sidecartools.com.
What the extension processes
When you click Export, the extension requests the issues or pull requests of the repository you are viewing from GitHub's official API (api.github.com) and builds a file in your browser. The file is saved to your computer. That is the entire data flow.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no servers of its own. We cannot see which repositories you export or what they contain.
Token
If you add a GitHub token in the options page it is stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on your device, is sent only to api.github.com in the Authorization header, and can be removed at any time from the options page or by uninstalling the extension.
Permissions
storage (the optional token), host access to api.github.com (the export requests), and a content script on GitHub issue and pull-request list pages (the Export button). The extension does not read other tabs or sites.
Third parties
GitHub's own privacy statement governs the API requests: GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Changes
Material changes to this notice will be listed in the extension's changelog and the version number will change.
